Tourism Town Asset Program Round Five

Applications for round five of the Tourism Town Asset Program have now closed.

The projects allocated funding from the current program (excluding GST) are:

  • Barkly Regional Council: Accessible Public Toilet, Peko Park ($38,145.34)
  • City of Darwin: Wayfinding Signage, Smith Street Mall ($56,391.69)
  • Victoria Daly Regional Council: Water Gardens Path Upgrade, Pine Creek ($29,453.27)
  • Katherine Town Council: Katherine Visitor Information Centre Relocation ($87,978.92)

The focus of this program is to enhance and improve main streets in town centres or facilities that have a particular benefit for visitors. Local government councils are key stakeholders in the development and implementation of regional Destination Management Plans and the NT's Drive Tourism Strategy. The Tourism Town Asset grant program provides another avenue for councils to prioritise and assist upgrading and creating welcoming public spaces and improving public facilities for visitors across each region.
