The NT visitor economy is strengthening with reforms passing today in the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory, backing our new powerhouse entity: Tourism and Events NT.
Bringing our tourism and events teams together delivers so many benefits and creates a clearer path to put the NT on the map as the place for amazing unique experiences and world class events. The Territory is home to a range of events from Parrtjima, MXGP of Australia and BASSINTHEGRASS, and exciting experiences from cultural tours, and jet ski rides to road trips exploring our stunning landscapes. Aligning marketing strategies and outputs will highlight the incredible events and experiences visitors can participate in when they head to the NT.
Work is already underway to strengthen our position with the recent launch of the Northern Territory Visitor Economy Strategy 2032. The Strategy sets a vision to grow visitor spending to $2.2 billion and increase overnight trips to 1.5 million.
The reforms will also see a skilled advisory board established with highly experienced leaders from across the visitor economy including national and international experience.
