Tourism and Events NT (TENT) is searching for passionate Accessibility Ambassadors for our 2026 events!


Our Accessibility Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting the event accessibility initiatives where attendees feel supported and empowered to participate fully at some of NT’s largest events including the NRL, BASSINTHEGRASS, Darwin Triple Crown Supercars (DTC), MXGP of Australia and Alice Springs Masters Games.


As an Accessibility Ambassador at one of our events, you will be a visible champion for accessibility and inclusion. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic event environment whilst contributing to meaningful community impact. This is a paid role, with approximately 8-12 hours of engagement per event.  

What are we looking for?

  • A friendly, empathetic, and approachable individual who can engage with a diverse range of audiences.
  • Confidence advocating for inclusive and accessible environments both in person and across digital platforms.
  • Lived experience of disability and a strong passion for improving experiences for people with disability.
  • Ability to attend and actively participate in events and pre-planning activities, as required.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Provide feedback and insights to event organisers to support continuous improvement of accessibility provisions. This may include attending Access & Inclusion workshops in person or online. Details will be agreed upon following appointment.
  • Champion accessibility initiatives before and during events, including:
    • Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Initiative
    • Accessible Viewing Platforms
    • Accessible Buggies and Buses
    • Accessible Matting
    • Sensory Bags
    • Communication Boards
    • Changing Places Facility
    • Access and Inclusion Guide
  • Collaborate with the TENT events and marketing team to capture and share content. This will include commitments both prior to and during events. Details will be agreed upon following appointment.
  • Engage with disability and community groups to promote and raise awareness of accessibility features and initiatives.

BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival
Saturday 16 May 2026
Established in 2003, BASSINTHEGRASS takes place at Darwin’s iconic Mindil Beach. The Territory’s biggest and longest-running music festival has always been a rite of passage for Territorians. It has now cemented its place on the national music festival calendar, attracting thousands of music fans from all corners of the country.

Darwin Triple Crown Supercars (DTC)
19 – 21 June 2026
The Darwin Triple Crown is a highly anticipated motorsport event held annually at the Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin. It features a range of high-speed races and activities, including the Supercars Championship race.
Paired with the Territory’s incredible weather and tourism experiences, the betr Darwin Triple Crown is a must-do on the Northern Territory’s events calendar. There’s something for the whole family with a host of delicious food choices, off-track entertainment and plenty of fun activities for the kids.

MXGP of Australia
18 – 20 September 2026 
Over three adrenaline-packed days, this is motocross at its most technical and raw. From the massive 30-metre jumps to the iconic start straight, you’ll be right in the heart of the dirt-flying action. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a lover of adventure, this is the ultimate off-road showdown

Alice Springs Masters Games 
18 – 20 September 2026 
The ASMG is Australia’s first and longest-running Masters Games and are open to anyone with a love of sports who meets the age criteria, which for most sports is generally 25 years and above. The Games showcase competition of a range of sports and sporting facilities and feature the much-loved social program.
