Tourism and Events NT is a division of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality. Guiding the strategic direction and objectives of Tourism and Events NT are:
The Minister for Tourism and Hospitality, the Hon Marie-Clare Boothby MLA, is responsible for setting the remit of NT Government policy as it relates to tourism.
The Minister also oversees the operations of Tourism and Events NT and works with the NT Cabinet to establish its overall budget allocation.
Tourism and Events NT Chief Executive Officer, Suzana Bishop is also Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality. Her role sees her spearhead initiatives in Tourism and Events, Screen NT investment, Parks and Wildlife operations, and the regulatory landscape for racing, wagering, and alcohol. With over 25 years of experience, Suzana is an expert in crafting destination experience strategies and a passionate advocate for leveraging partnerships to drive visitation and enhance the visitor economy.
Suzana has held prominent leadership roles in some of Victoria’s most prestigious event organisations, including the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Australian Grand Prix, and Federation Square.
The Tourism and Events NT Advisory Board (the Advisory Board) exists to provide strategic advice, insight and external perspective to support the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality and the executive leadership of Tourism and Events NT (TENT).
The Board’s role is future‑focused, collaborative and enabling.
Regional Tourism Organisations
Tourism and Events NT work with regional tourism organisations, Tourism Top End (TTE) and Tourism Central Australia (TCA) to support and promote tourism operators and experiences in the NT. TTE and TCA are not-for-profit, innovative membership-based associations that assist a wide variety of stakeholders including individuals, businesses and organisations with the growth of the NT tourism industry. The RTOs are partly funded by the Territory Government to service tourism operators through business development, capacity building and support programs on behalf of the tourism sector.
TTE is the regional tourism office serving the area commonly referred to as the 'Top End' which includes Darwin, Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Litchfield, Katherine and surrounding areas. It is a member based organisation, committed to the growth and development of tourism in the Top End. TTE also facilitates the Visitor Information Centre in Darwin CBD, providing complimentary and comprehensive information and booking services.

TCA is the regional tourism office serving the area commonly referred to as the 'Red Centre' which includes Alice Springs, Uluru, Tennant Creek and surrounding areas. It is a member based organisation, committed to growth and development of tourism in Central Australia. TCA also facilitate the Visitor Information Centre in Alice Springs town centre, providing complimentary and comprehensive information and booking services.

Business development partners
AusIndustry provides services from government agencies to support businesses across all industries throughout Australia, connecting them with information, grants, registrations and support to help businesses succeed.
The Regional Manager is based in Darwin and provides businesses across the Northern Territory with information about the assistance programs they and other organisations provide. The Northern Australia Tourism Initiative programs delivered by AusIndustry are targeted towards businesses in the tourism industry.
Business Enterprise Centre NT is able to provide independent, detailed business advice based on assessments of the clients business. The BECNT aims to provide business owners both personal and sustainable business success through networks, targeted business workshops and ongoing mentorship opportunities.
This low-cost, confidential service to the client aims to resolve and improve financial, management and operational functions of a client’s business. Where the need is identified, the BECNT can refer a business to a specialist professional advisor (solicitor, accountant, digital engagement, human resource manager) to provide specific advice to the client.
